What is Strugglestream™?
Strugglestream™ is a surreal, satirical world where people broadcast their personal struggles online — desperate for likes, attention, and cash.
It’s funny. It’s bleak. And it’s uncomfortably close to the world we already live in.
The project began as an AI mockumentary ad — a parody of a reality-TV-meets-social-media service called Strugglestream. But somewhere along the way, the parody blurred into reality. The fake ad became a real feed. Strugglestream became social media.
That shift — from mocking the format to inhabiting it — is what makes Strugglestream™ feel so alive, and so unsettling.
Strugglestream™ borrows the language of social feeds, twists the mockumentary style, and flips it into something darker and stranger. At the same time, it reflects the pressures of modern life — from financial strain to the endless chase for validation — with a layer of bleak, dark comedy.
Why Strugglestream™?
Social media has become an endless talent show where desperation outshines dignity. Strugglestream™ holds up a cracked mirror to that reality — turning “struggling” into both the punchline and the currency.
The cast of characters are raw, absurd, and painfully human:
- The middle-class man live-streaming his own arrest — polished accent, crumpled dignity.
- Two brothers filming as debt collectors kick down their door — hoping the chaos goes viral.
- The binge-eater shovelling food on camera, thanking viewers for donations between bites.
- The young woman posting for likes seconds after being hit by a car — bruised, bleeding, still smiling to camera.
Each is grotesque yet recognisable. Each post blends comedy, satire, and a sting of recognition.
